Can anyone tell me how to make sure that my computer is 100% free of a Rootkey Virus? I spent all weekend fighting one of the Fake Virus Scan programs that my girlfriend loaded on her computer. The only reason I knew what to do is because I had a similar one hit my computer about a month ago. Well, that and the fact that I know what to do. I updated IE to IE 9, installed AVG and Ran scans with Norman, Yahoo, and Windows live one scan. I now have the AVG personal firewall set up. My fear is that once this damn virus and program gets into your computer it will stay and I want to make sure that HER computer is safe, so that it will work.....any suggestions?
